We tell ourselves that we can’t.

We tell ourselves others are better, stronger, smarter.

We tell ourselves we’re rubbish.

Well let me tell you something,

We lie.

Lie to ourselves,

Bully ourselves,

Belittle, down tread. 

Would you do that to a friend?

Family? 

Your partner?

We tell ourselves we will fail

But do we try?

Keep pushing even when knocked back.

Prove them wrong.
