I stand on the edge of time, Wondering if we could have been better, If we could have stopped this. I stand here thinking of what could have been, What messages we missed, What selfishness and greed destroyed. I stand here as the last. I stand alone. I stand here with no future. One planet, One world, Home to billions of people, and billions of creatures. Every action has a reaction. I stand here on the edge of time. The last of humanity. The last of life. The message was clear: You’re killing her. Killing them. Killing yourself. I stand here, Alone, At the end, Because it is too late. Save her. Save them. Save yourself, Whilst you still have time. M. But resilience is your gift, perseverance your friend. Life is not a walk in the park, It has its ups and downs. It’s calms and storms. But, you are here and you will preserve. A world so small, But yet so big. A time to pause, Yet also to steam ahead. It’s a strange one this world we’re now in. A cough can scare A warmth leaves chills. And where’s the taste? What does the future hold for us? As we stand here on the verge of the unknown, The edge of a new beginning. I look out at those here today and I think of the many who stood here before, not just university students, parents, or staff. I look out and I see something more. We are the next generation. We are a beginning. We can follow in the footsteps of those before us, do exactly the same, or we can strive for something more. Something better. Something healthier. There are billions of people on this planet, billions of souls. Do not fear the unknown but take it in your hands and run. Be the person you have always wanted to be. M. H. It is hard sometimes to think of what to write, To turn this blank page, these pixels on my screen, into something. Something that means something. I write to be me, I write to let it all out, I write because the truth is talking is a lot harder than people would make me believe. But, I also write because some things need to be said, Need to be shared, Need to be discussed, Need to be. This world is an infinite of possibilities, An infinite of lives, An infinite of wonder. If we don’t write, don’t preserve,  Then what is life? How are we to learn, b ecome bright? I write not necessarily to be heard, But because this is my life. M. H.
